America’s Got Talent: Susan Boyle and Howie Mandel celebrate 10-year milestones as five acts leave
Susan Boyle and Howie Mandel both celebrated 10-year milestones during Wednesday’s episode of America’s Got Talent on NBC.
The 58-year-old Scottish singer performed live during the season 14 results episode in which seven of 12 acts that performed Monday advanced to the semifinals.
Susan belted out I Dreamed A Dream in celebration of her decade-long career that started with her 2009 audition on Britain’s Got Talent.

The tingling performance featured archive video clips of BGT judges Simon Cowell, 59, and Piers Morgan, 54, praising Susan who performed the same song during her audition.
Susan sported her new bobbed haircut while wearing a sparkling silver gown during her performance of the song from the musical Les Misérables.
She received a standing ovation from the audience at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywod.
Show host Terry Crews, 51, then promoted Susan’s new album Ten that reflects on her career since BGT.

Simon earlier smiled as he talked about seeing Susan for the first time 10 years ago.
‘I swear to god it felt like 10 minutes ago. I’ll remember that audition for the rest of my life,’ Simon said.
He added that the world ‘fell in love’ with Susan and ‘hated my guts at the same time’.

Howie, 63, also was celebrating his 10-year anniversary with the NBC show.
Simon delivered a heartfelt speech and surprised Howie with a tribute to his ‘significance and importance over 10 years on the show’.

Howie said the ‘real tribute’ was being ‘just a small part on the best show on television’.

‘It’s the best job and best show in the world,’ Howie declared as he received a standing ovation while fans chanted his name.
Terry revealed the top five of the 12 acts based on viewer voting would advance to the semis.
The acts that finished in sixth, seventh and eighth place took part in the live Dunkin’ Save vote. Charlotte Summers, 13, Swedish singer-songwriter Chris Kläfford and Ndlovu Youth Choir were singled out for the Dunkin’ Save.

Simon’s golden buzzer pick violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa, 11, was the first to advance as singer Joseph Allen was eliminated.
Dance troupe V Unbeatable moved into the semis next as mind-reading act The Sentimentalists got sent home.
Blacklight group Light Balance Kids were voted into the semis followed by blind singer Robert Finley, but it was the end of the road for danger-loving knife act Nick & Lindsay Williams.

Stand-up comic Ryan Niemiller, 36, who was born with severely shortened arms was next to advance.
‘It’s all in your hands now,’ Simon told the comedian.
‘Sorry. I didn’t mean that. We get each other. Why do I do live TV? You know what I was trying to say,’ Simon said after catching his slip.

Small-town singer Chris took the sixth spot after voting in the Dunkin Save was tallied.
The judges voted between Charlotte and Ndlovu Youth Choir, but the acts finished in a tie.

Viewer voting was used to break the tie and Ndlovu Youth Choir advanced to the semis.
America’s Got Talent will return next week on NBC with performances by another group of 12 quarter-finalists.
The semifinals will start September 3 and the final live show will air September 17 with the season 14 winner announced September 18.
